Customize how AI generates responses to match your brand voice.
What Are Custom Instructions?
Custom instructions tell the AI how to write responses. They help maintain your brand's tone and style across all AI-generated content.
Setting Instructions
- Go to Settings → AI Copilot
- Find Custom Instructions
- Enter your guidelines
- Click Save
Example Instructions
- Use a friendly, casual tone
- Address customers by their first name
- Always mention our 30-day return policy when relevant
- Sign off with "Cheers, The [Store Name] Team"
- Use British English spelling
- Keep responses under 200 words when possible
Tips for Good Instructions
- Be specific - "Friendly tone" is good, "Super casual with emojis" is better
- Include policies - AI can reference your return/shipping policies
- Set boundaries - Tell AI what NOT to do
- Test and iterate - Adjust based on results
What Instructions Can't Do
- Access external websites or databases
- Make up specific order information
- Override safety guidelines
